This course is not for the beginner and we expect all students to be able to cover a cake with Sugarpaste, The class is run over a weekend due to the amount of skills covered. You will be using, various mediums including Sugarpaste, Mexican paste, petal paste and Cake lace. You will be covering a Fruit Cake a Deep Cake Dummy and a sponge cake.
Firstly you will be shown how to crumb coat a sponge base and marzipan your base in preparation , prior to covering with Sugarpaste. You will be provided with a deep Polystyrene dummy, which you will cover with Sugarpaste. We will ensure that you achieve a professional and smooth finish on all bases. You will then have the opportunity to use the much talked about ‘Cake lace’. You will keep the mat valued at £34 and have the opportunity to purchase cake lace at a discounted prie to continue enjoying this medium after the course.
On day two, we will be showing you how to tier and assemble your cakes the professional way. We will then be showing you how to make a full rose and the petal frill technique. On completion of all techniques you will end up with a professional cake similar to the above to impress your family and friends. This is a full 2 day course anyou will need to bring lunch on both days.
This course is held in our new teaching facility “The Studio”. Free Car parking is available very nearby. “The Studio” is situated within yards of the local Bus Station and Taxi Rank, with only a 5 minute walk to the Train Station.
This course starts at 10:00am and finishes around 4.30pm on both days.

The course price includes everything you need, including the use of all sugarcraft tools, and equipment. Free refreshments and a light lunch (if you have special diatry needs can we ask you bring your own lunch).
